nounGlas und Keramik
The period of time when a furnace is at its hottest; the interval in which the furnace is meant to fully melt glass.
Warum dieses Wort
Old vocabulary from the melting trade, where a furnace campaign was measured in founds rather than clock hours. The word survives because it names a window you either use or lose: glass melted outside it carries seeds and stones through to the forming end.
In use
Batch went in late, so we lost half the found and you can see the seed in every gather off that pot.
