Warum dieses Wort
The name is older than the hot rod association: it just means charging the cylinder above atmospheric pressure. The dividing line people miss is the drive, belted or geared off the crank, where a turbo runs on exhaust flow.
In use
It's a belt driven supercharger on that one, so you feel the boost right off idle instead of waiting for it to come on.
