Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line, eine vollständig digitale, dedizierte Verbindung zum Telefonnetz, die Download-Geschwindigkeiten bis 9 Mbps und Upload-Geschwindigkeiten bis 1 Mbps über PSTN-Leitungen bietet. Internet-Service-Provider müssen ADSL unterstützen. Die typische ADSL-Installation besteht aus einem ADSL-Modem an einer Telefondose und einer Netzwerkkarte (NIC) im Computer.
