debark

To remove the bark from a tree, especially one that has been felled.

Warum dieses Wort

Bark carries grit and soil that dulls saw teeth fast, so logs get debarked before they meet the mill's blades. It also matters for chips: pulp and board plants want clean wood, not bark.

In use

Don't send that lot through till it's debarked, last load full of stones took the edge off two bands.
