Relating to a compound lens which has its entrance or exit pupil at infinity; in the prior case, this produces an orthographic view of the subject

Warum dieses Wort

The point is that magnification stops changing with distance, so a part sitting slightly high on the conveyor still measures the same. Ordinary lenses make far edges look smaller; that error lands straight in your gauging results.

In use

Bore looked out of round on the old camera, but that was just perspective; put the telecentric on it and the reading settled down.
