flat lock
nounBauwesen
a method of interlocking metal panels in which one panel edge is folded back on top of itself and the other panel is folded under, after which the two panels are hooked together.
Warum dieses Wort
Named for what it does not do: unlike a standing seam, nothing rises above the plane of the panel, so the finished surface reads flat. That is why it turns up on walls and soffits as much as on low roofs.
In use
We're running flat lock on the entry canopy soffit, so get the hems folded on the bench before anything goes up the ladder.
